The Process

At Bladz Skate Shop all staff members have been trained in the Maximum Edge skate sharpening system. Maximum Edge uses a seven-step patented squaring and finishing process:

• Machine Calibration
• Blade Preparation 1
• Machine Sharpening
• Blade Preparation 2
• Finishing Pass
• Blade Calibration
• Blade Finishing Process

Using this finely honed process you will receive the same consistent results from any of the members that many professional players are receiving from their equipment managers who have taken the Maximum Edge training program.

A smaller (ROH) Radius of Hallow, i.e. 1/2" results in a blade with a higher bite angle than a blade with a larger radius, i.e. 5/8" ROH. A higher bite angle will cause the blade to penetrate the ice deeper increasing drag.
